Municipality of Kerava
Kerava is a city in the south of Finland. The green, safe and service-rich town of Kerava welcomes everyone! You can reach Kerava easily by train, car or bike. Kerava is a safe and cosy town where people and the environment are looked after. Kerava`s total area is 30,7 km2 and population is almost 36 000 inhabitants.
The Lahti motorway passes by the eastern border of the town. From Kerava you can get all the way to St. Petersburg through Porvoo and to Tampere and Hämeenlinna through Tuusula and Nurmijärvi. Helsinki is only 30 kilometres away.
The most well-known market place in Kerava, Aleksintori, is being rebuilt. A new shopping centre will open its doors onto the pedestrian street in the autumn of 2018 and five new apartment buildings will be completed around it during the years 2018–2022. Kerava will have a new modern town centre where it is easy to do business and be entertained. Kerava also developing new central station. A new central station that combines housing, business spaces and incentive parking is under planning.
